When I first started in Network Marketing, there was no one to guide me in the right direction, so I just tried different things randomly. I spent way more time creating presentations rather than making presentations and wasted all the precious time over analyzing.

That’s because I didn’t really know what else to do. I knew I wanted to help a lot of people succeed in the business but most people didn’t buy into my MLM deal the way I thought they would.

I had to burn several good prospects before getting a small number of them to join my organization. The only way to present to someone was to hide the reason I wanted to sit down with them. I’d be really nervous during the invitation process because if they’d come up with objections, I wouldn’t know what to do, or worst, they’d refuse to meet me in the first place.

Over the last few years quite a few recruiting systems have surfaced and each one promised to recruit for you. I’ve tried about half a dozen of these different prospecting and presenting systems. Things like automated websites, powerlines, 3-way calling, local opportunity meetings, conference calls, webinars, etc. I tried some of the strategies these gurus used but it only seemed to be working for them, not for me. If you’re anything like me, you’re still in MLM just to prove your friends and colleagues wrong when they told you it wouldn’t work – and it’s not really impressive when you still drive that old beat-up car. Negative perceptions about MLM plague network marketers almost wherever they go. That makes for a pretty bad experience for people, and it’s one reason people quit.

As anyone ever stopped you, even before you explain anything about your company?

The problem is not the business itself, it’s the people doing the business.

The reality is, network marketing is a fantastic business. You don’t have to create products, open an office, stock inventory, hire employees, deal with red tape, and so on. You identify your “niche”, do some marketing and interview candidates to find those you want to work with.

If you do it right, you create a lifetime income and can now spend your time traveling first class, spend plenty of time with your loved ones, live in a gorgeous home, drive exotic cars, contribute back to people in need.
